CBCGL (Chinese Bible Church of Greater Lowell) is a 32 years old church located in Chelmsford, MA. We have three congregations to accommodate worship and ministry in three languages (English, Mandarin and Cantonese). But no matter what, we are all family in Jesus Christ. In this building, people can meet Jesus, engage in life-giving community, and everyone is welcome no matter their ethnicity, nationality, and/or language. Join us for one of our worship services!
Chinese Bible Church of Greater Lowell was established as a church plant by Chinese Bible Church of Greater Boston. CBCGL held its first Sunday worship on January 22nd 1989, at the Peter Reilly School in Lowell. Rev. Gene Liu was the founding pastor.
For the first three years, CBCGL met on Fridays at Trinity Lutheran Church, Chelmsford, Sundays at the Peter Reilly School, and rented a third space for the church offices. Over the next few years attendance grew to the point where CBCGL was able to buy building B at the current location in 1992. Since that time we have been able to hold all of our activities in this one location. Building A was purchased in 1995.
October 3, 1999 saw the inauguration of CBCGL’s English Worship, LEM (Lowell English Ministry). God has continued to bless the ministry of CBCGL. We now have a family of over 400 adults and youth, 60 children, as well as community Bible studies. From its founding, CBCGL has been a church where people can come to find love and care. Chinese Bible Church of Greater Lowell is an independent, Chinese, evangelical, Bible church.
We are a Christian church, and have people that come from many different faith backgrounds. We maintain broadly evangelical beliefs. We consider ourselves a non-denominational church.
Our goal is to know God and to make God known. It is our desire to create disciple making communities. We do this through reaching people, teaching them to love and serve Jesus, and sending them to reach, teach, and send others.
We participate local events and contribute to community build. In CBCGL, we also have Chinese School, Toastmaster, Alpha Course, charity activities and many more.

A heartfelt greeting is part of what makes a church a church. No matter what question you might have, just ask. Our ushers are there to help you get settled and comfortable.
We provide childcare and activities for all age groups. We have a nursery room for babies under 3 years old. Sunday School and Worship are organized for children between pre-school to grade 6. Teenagers (Grade 7 to 12) will be exploring the Christian faith with our co-workers and youth minister.
After the sermon, you would be expecting real people to say “hi” and shake hands with you to welcome you. We would like to invite you to join us for lunch (New guests are free. We will open the kitchen when it is deemed safe given the pandemic).
The Bible tells us to speak the truth in love. The Bible is God’s truth. At CBCGL we seek to explore, understand and apply God’s truth to our lives at every level in a spirit of love. We have Sunday School for theology studying and discussion.
