A Letter from Pastor Nathan Willems

Welcome to CrossPoint Community – A Ministry of CBCGL! We are a community of Christians who come together to worship the Lord and serve the community because of our love for Jesus. We want others to know the incredible grace and love of God, available to us through the person and work of Jesus Christ, applied to us by the presence and work of the Holy Spirit.

God made the world and everything in it. He put you where you are so that you might seek him and perhaps reach out to Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. You and I both know that this world is not the way that it should be. In the Bible, which is God’s word, God tells us that this is the result of sin. Sin separates us from God, causing us to turn away from him.

But God didn’t leave us to rebel against Him. He came, in the person of Jesus Christ, to live a perfect life free from sin. He came to give his life, as he served and then suffered and died, taking our punishment and penalty for sin. When we put our trust in Jesus to save us from the power, punishment and penalty for sin, we are born again into the family of God. Those who have done this are called Christians. Out of our love for Christ, we live lives of service and witness to others.

We’d like to encourage you to join us for a visit. We have worship services on Sunday mornings, from 11:25 am to 12:30 pm. Our services generally begin with a word of welcome, continue with singing and announcements, are followed by a Biblically-based sermon, followed by a song and a benediction. We also have a Christian education hour, which we call Sunday school, from 9:45 to 11 am. You are also welcome to join us on Wednesday nights for prayer (starts at 7:45 pm) or Friday Nights for Bible Study (starts at 7:30 pm).

When you come, you’ll also notice that we are a ministry of CBCGL (Chinese Bible Church of Greater Lowell). CBCGL is a multi-generational, multi-ethnic, non-denominational, Chinese heritage church serving 3 different language congregations and 2 age specific ministries (Youth and Children) in one church. We are located in Chelmsford, MA. If you have viewed some of CrossPoint Community’s services online (You can find them here), you can see that we are multi-generational. We have children, youth, young professionals, retirees worshipping together.

CrossPoint Community is also multi-ethnic, being a proud part of our Chinese heritage church. While most of our members have connections to China, Taiwan, Singapore, etc., we welcome people of all cultural backgrounds. It’s true that our ethnicity/cultural backgrounds matter. But the most important thing about us is that we are followers of Jesus Christ. We seek to help others to know, love, and follow our Lord Jesus.

So, if you are someone who is weary and needs rest, welcome! If you are someone who is mourning and longing for comfort, welcome! If you are someone who feels worthless and wonder if God cares, welcome! If you have failed and are looking for strength, welcome! If you have sinned and need a Savior, welcome! Our congregation opens wide our doors with a welcome from Jesus Christ who is the ally of his enemies, the advocate for the guilty, the Justifier of the inexcusable, the Friend of sinners. In name of Jesus, we welcome you!

In Christ and Soli Deo Gloria,

Nathan Willems
