Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Opportunities abound for serving!
Since March 22nd, you can serve by signing up to pray for the Next Generation (either in our congregation or those who are presently at college).
Tonight, from 7:30 to 8 pm in the Main Sanctuary, you are invited to a sharing about the work of The Root Cellar Ministry. I plan on going! You will get to learn about the service opportunity you have this summer, from July 19-24, to join with the Youth who will be serving immigrants in Lewiston, ME. The information will be in English!
On Saturday, April 18th, in the Community Hall (A202), we will have the Next Gen Fellowship, Hobby Bunch, and in the evening, at 5 pm, take time to have a CPC fellowship meal, while also packing care packages for College Students who will be taking Finals in the first week of May. Thanks to those of you who signed up to bring items, and those who have already contributed! The sign-up link was sent out via e-mail on April 9.
On Sunday, April 19, or even on April 18, CPC will be spring cleaning! So bring cleaning supplies, things for dusting, sweeping, and sanitizing. We’ll be taking care of rooms A201A and B, A202, A216 and A218, and the hallways in between them. I hope you can join in the cleaning since many hands make light work. (My apologies, I will be in a meeting beginning at 2 pm in A201A)
Other ways you can serve: You can also bring in supplies for VBS this summer. See the list in the bulletin (Children’s Ministry Tab). You can also bring in pre-k or kindergarten level books which are like new (gently used), in either English or Spanish. CBCGL is collecting 40 of these books to be sent with the Panama STM this summer.
Also, just a heads up, so you’re not wondering where I am at the next two Sunday mornings, on April 19, I will be preaching at CCMSB in Sharon, MA to help with pulpit supply for Pastor Angie who is on Sabbatical. On April 26, I’ll be preaching in the Children’s Ministry. I look forward to sharing God’s Word with you on May 3rd.
Please continue to pray for the nations of Iran and Israel/Gaza and Ukraine/Russia and Sudan. Here is a suggested list of prayers if you are at a loss for words in how to pray: https://send.org/story/hh_pray_for_ukraine. And https://worldrelief.org/blog-prayer-for-israel-and-gaza/ And here are other prayers for peace in general: https://worldrelief.org/prayers-for-peace-in-the-world/ Thank you for kneeling on behalf of the people of Ukraine and Russia, Israel and Gaza and Lebanon, and Sudan, and Iran and taking a stand (or a knee in prayer) against the forces of darkness in this present age.
Further announcements can be found in the weekly spotlight. And other church wide announcements can be found in our weekly bulletin.
For Prayer:
1. From Bishop J.C. Ryle – “To be prayerless is to be Christless, Godless, and in the high road to destruction…It will always be found that when prayers are few, grace, strength, peace, and hope are small.” Please join our Wednesday night prayer meeting (7:45 – 9:00 pm) even if you can’t participate the whole time.
