Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
What a full number of days we have coming up! For example, tomorrow you can join the Hobby Bunch from 2 to 4 pm in A202. Also, remember that Saturday is All Hallow’s Eve (aka Halloween). You can check with your town to see when Trick-or-Treating is and hand out candy to your neighbor’s kids (or your neighbors). And if you haven’t yet, take the time to introduce yourself to your neighbors! That way, you can invite them to church!
Then, set your clocks back before you go to bed. Daylight savings ends November 1st, so you’ll get an extra hour of sleep. But also be ready for Sunset at 4:35 pm…
On Sunday morning, you can come (well-rested!) to Sunday School at 9:45 am. CPC is starting a new series studying the Gospels. That is happening in room 216. You can also attend connection hour. I’ll also be running a membership class for those who are interested. If you would like to become a member of CBCGL (which CPC is a part of) please let me know!
You’re also welcome to join our CPC Ministry Committee meeting to know what we are talking about and planning for CPC for November and beyond. That starts at 1:30 pm in A216.
Then on Tuesday, Nov. 3rd, you get to vote (and/or pray for the election)! If you haven’t voted yet, take some time before how to watch this great voting guide on how to vote Biblically. It’s put together by my friend, Rev. Dr. Jonathan Romig. You can find the link here: Christian Voters Guide.
If you want to talk, let me know. I’m working to find times to meet with / visit all the members and regular attendees of CPC so that I can help you to grow in Christlikeness. So if you hear from me, you’re not in trouble – in fact, you are loved!
From the New City Catechism – Question 3: How many persons are there in God?
There are three persons in the one true and living God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are the same in substance, equal in power and glory. (Cf. 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Please continue to pray for the nations of the US/Iran and Israel/Gaza and Ukraine/Russia and Sudan. May God grant peace and bring an end to these wars.
Further announcements can be found in the weekly spotlight. And other church wide announcements can be found in our weekly bulletin.
For Prayer:
From Bishop J.C. Ryle – “To be prayerless is to be Christless, Godless, and in the high road to destruction…It will always be found that when prayers are few, grace, strength, peace, and hope are small.” Please join our Wednesday night prayer meeting (7:45 – 9:00 pm) even if you can’t participate the whole time.
