Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

This weekend is exceptional in a number of ways. First, today is 2/6/26. We won’t have another repeating date like this until next year! Second, the Winter Olympics start today in Milan, known as the Milano Cortina Olympics. Third, the Patriots (yes, the New England Patriots) are back in the Super Bowl on Sunday Night. Fourth, you have a chance to come to Bible Study in person, and join a study led by your very own pastor. I hope to see you tonight!
Second, do you remember our measures for CPC? I know it’s easy to forget a list, so this month I want to remind you what we are aiming at as a congregation. Our mission (as a church) is to glorify God, love people, transform lives through Christ. Our Vision (as a congregation) is “Equipping the Next Generation to Advance God’s Kingdom.” Our measures help us to know that we are doing those things.
So this week, here are the measures in relation to God:
     1. How am I connecting with God through prayer and the Bible?
     2. How am I obeying what I know our Lord has commanded?
     3. How am I maintaining a clear conscience before God?

What are your answers? I hope that you are drawing closer to the Lord through reading His Word – the Bible, and through talking with Him – through prayer. But what good is knowing who God is if you aren’t going to do what He says? Moreover, are you turning to Jesus to help cleanse you of your former way of life before knowing Christ, or of your tendency to try to control everything (hint: you can’t)? Do you know the joy and peace of being pure in heart, so that you see God (Matt. 5:8)?

Please continue to pray for the nations of Israel/Gaza and Ukraine/Russia and Sudan. Here is a suggested list of prayers if you are at a loss for words in how to pray: https://send.org/story/hh_pray_for_ukraine. And https://worldrelief.org/blog-prayer-for-israel-and-gaza/ And here are other prayers for peace in general: https://worldrelief.org/prayers-for-peace-in-the-world/ Thank you for kneeling on behalf of the people of Ukraine and Russia, Israel and Gaza and Lebanon, and Sudan, and taking a stand (or a knee in prayer) against the forces of darkness in this present age.

Further announcements can be found in the weekly spotlight. And other church wide announcements can be found in our weekly bulletin.

For Prayer:

1. From Bishop J.C. Ryle – “To be prayerless is to be Christless, Godless, and in the high road to destruction…It will always be found that when prayers are few, grace, strength, peace, and hope are small.” Please join our Wednesday night prayer meeting (7:45 – 9:00 pm) even if you can’t participate the whole time.
