CrossPoint Community News 08/08/2025
This week, our church campus has been full of joyful noise—songs echoing down the hallways, children reciting memory verses, and laughter bubbling from every corner. It’s Vacation Bible School (VBS) week, and over a hundred camper and coworkers have come to discover who God is and how to magnify His greatness.
The theme of this year’s VBS is taken from Psalm 34:3 (ESV):
“Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!”
VBS is more than a fun-filled week of stories and songs. It’s a powerful reminder of why we, as a church, exist. When we help children see the greatness of God, we are participating in the vital work of lighting their lamps so that they, one day, can be light and salt in a dark and weary world. Children are not born knowing how to shine for Christ—their lights must be lit first.

That spark doesn’t come from programming alone. It comes from the entire CBCGL community, working together as one body to magnify God’s glory across generations. At CrossPoint Community Ministry (CPCM), investing intentionally in the next generation is also our vision: It has to come from older believers showing up, teaching, praying, encouraging, and setting examples of what it means to follow Christ… Not only to grow in faith but to find their place in the body of Christ.
As we look beyond VBS, we must also look ahead. What will it take for this next generation to remain rooted here—not just as attendees, but as worshipers, leaders, and disciple-makers? How do we help them stay—not out of habit, but out of vision?
We believe that cultivating a lasting faith means helping them see how their unique gifts, questions, and stories are part of God’s larger mission. It means giving them real roles in the church, room to explore their faith, and relationships that model authentic discipleship. It means that we, the current generation of believers, commit to magnifying the Lord together—not only in faith and worship, but also in how we work side by side to raise up the next generation.
This week has shown what’s possible when we serve together with a shared heart. Teachers, youth helpers, snack teams, and tech crew—all playing different roles, yet united by one goal: that the children may come to know and follow Jesus.
Let’s not let that vision fade. Let’s keep asking the Lord to show us how to build a church where our children, teens, and young adults find purpose, community, and faith that lasts. Let us continue to magnify the Lord—not only in what we do, but in who we’re becoming together.
