Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Once again, we have a number of announcements for you. We want you to be involved. We want you to know the resources you have available to you.
First, on Sunday, October 15, we had a training by the Gideons International called “Conversations: A Simply Approach to Sharing your Faith.” Unfortunately, it was not recorded, as the benefit of being in the meeting and getting practice is key to the training. But they did provide resources which we can use to help us in sharing our faith. You can find those resources as follows:

1. Pocket Testaments – Obtained through Friends of Gideons (https://www.friendsofgideons.org) at $2 each.  This site has excerpts from the workshop and additional encouragement for Friends to be witnesses for Christ.
2. Customizable Tract (in the link). You can add your church contact information into the tract before printing.  You have permission from The Gideons International to customize, print, and distribute this tract as desired. https://lowellchurch-my.sharepoint.com/:b:/g/personal/nathan_willems_lowell_church/EX_HSiu2_ghOrnd-U_30ie0B7AYnH-L8duc_1Qekyyk8Lg?e=Rfm7PT
3. The Gideon Bible App for:

Second, you can save the date for a concert from the Hyssongs. They will be performing at the North Chelmsford Congregational Church (15 Princeton Street) on Saturday, November 18, at 7 pm.
Third, please make every effort to attend our once-a-year congregational meeting this coming Sunday. It is part of the duties and responsibilities of members (as are attending worship, giving of time, gifts, tithes and offerings, and cultivating a sincere love for each other and honor our church leaders). We want you to know what is going on and we want to continue to function without calling another meeting (which we would need to do if we do not meet quorum – which is a simple majority (51%) of members with voting privileges). If you know that you will not be able to make it, please e-mail the church office manager: corinna.lee (at) lowell.church to request an absentee ballot (prior to Saturday at 1:30pm).

Also, please continue to pray for the nations of Israel and Ukraine. Pray that the wars would end. Here is a suggested list of prayers if you are at a loss for words in how to pray: https://send.org/story/hh_pray_for_ukraine. And https://worldrelief.org/blog-prayer-for-israel-and-gaza/ Thank you for kneeling on behalf of the people of Ukraine and Russia, Israel and Palestine and taking a stand (or a knee in prayer) against the forces of darkness in this present age.

Administration / Events

1. We have a missions update (so check out the missions tab from the bulletin)! You can provide support for COCM (in England), for James Liang (at UConn), or Chris and Emily who are serving in Japan with OMF.

2. Calling all church members! See you on Sunday at our Annual Congregational Meeting – in the Main Sanctuary from 1:30 to 3:30 pm! Show up earlier to obtain your ballot and vote on the new elder candidate, the 5 deacon candidates, and the approval of appointing Min. Changjian Sun to be a member of the council. Then stay and hear about what we have planned for the end of the year and the coming year (which will be CBCGL’s 35th anniversary). We look forward to seeing you there!

3. Did you know that our buildings have been named/renamed? Check out the church announcement tab in the bulletin for more information.

4. Sunday Lunch Service is available at CBCGL with $5 lunchboxes. To place an order, please use the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/nCwQnMruKv Orders are preferred to be placed as soon as you know, but need to be placed by Saturday night so that the kitchen can prepare the correct amount of food. Note: The selection which states “Number of Meals” refers to the cooked food/lunch box/Chinese food option.

5. All other announcements can be found here (in our CrossPoint Community bulletin).

For Prayer:

From Bishop J.C. Ryle – “To be prayerless is to be Christless, Godless, and in the high road to destruction…It will always be found that when prayers are few, grace, strength, peace, and hope are small.” Please join our Wednesday night prayer meeting (7:45 – 9:15 pm) even if you can’t participate the whole time.
